Cheerleading Squads Going PINK!

Herbron High School in Carrollton, TX  and Lasalle High School in St. Ignace, Michigan decided to go PINK this October, to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The cheerleaders of Herbron High raised money for the cause and last year, they raised over $5,000 by collecting donations, selling t-shirts, and devoting a pep rally to this cause. This year they raised almost &7,500. The LaSalle cheerleaders team up with their basketball players and dedicate one of their basketball games to Breast Cancer Awareness. At the game, the cheerleading squad and basketball team wear pink uniforms. Also during the game they sell pink poms, donating the proceeds to their local hospital’s oncology department. Most people think that cheerleaders just jump around but they are a group of students that also do community service.
